Shropshire Rainbow Film Festival

We are very proud of our supporters. One of the things the festival tries to do is to involve local businesses, charities and individuals, providing them with an opportunity to publicly declare their support for LGBT communities.

Greg & Maria D'Aguiar (Sweden)
"We support The Rainbow Film Festival because of the multi faceted message it sends to the public who have had the pleasure to visit and enjoy it. The Rainbow Film Festival also reminds the public of the festival's objectives, which is to focus on a genre within the film industry that does not receive much publicity"

Victim Support

Victim Support is proud to sponsor the 2011 festival. We are the independent national charity that has helped millions of crime victims find the strength to cope, and to get over the experience. Our services are free and confidential, and are available however long ago the crime took place, whether that was yesterday, last week, or several years ago. You do not have to have reported the crime to the police to use our services.

You can contact us on 0300 303 1977.

Victim Support is proud to be a Stonewall Diversity Champion, and one of the top 100 gay friendly employers. www.victimsupport.org.uk ~

West Mercia Police

West Mercia Police is pleased to sponsor the 2011 Rainbow Film Festival. This event is growing in popularity each year with sell-out performances for films that might not otherwise come to public notice. This year, we are sponsoring the film 'East Bloc Love', which follows a group of LGBT campaigners organising Slavic Pride in Belarus. It demonstrates the harassment and prejudice faced from the community and the police.

In the UK, and especially within West Mercia Police, we continue to show our commitment to all minority communities. We have recently begun a series of Police and Communities Together (PACT) meetings at LGBT social venues, which has allowed us to increase confidence in local policing. It also gives individuals a voice to address issues directly with us.

We are also committed to stamping out hate crime. We will not tolerate any individual being targeted for who they are or what they represent. We support the True Vision website, which allows members of the public to report hate crime online (www.report-it.org.uk).

West Mercia Police supports the Rainbow Film Festival and looks forward to a programme of entertaining and challenging films.
