We endeavour to make our film festival accessible to as many people as possible.
At the venues where we screen films;
Old Market Hall – With advance notice the venue can accommodate up to three wheelchairs in The Old Market Hall cinema. It has three optional spaces that can be booked up to 24 hours before the screening commences, subject to availability. Both the wheelchair user and a companion are admitted at half price. The cinema/cafe is fully wheelchair accessible with disabled toilets available.
The Hive – There is a removable ramp available to get into the building after which the remainder of the building is all on one level. The front door is electric and all internal doors are purposely wide. Accessible toilets are available. The auditorium has no fitted seating so you will be able to position your wheelchair at any suitable location.
We usually screen at least one feature film with subtitles within our festival programme. We often have a few within our short film programmes too. Click here to see all the 2016 films with subtitles.
If you would like to view subtitles for one of our other feature films please get in touch with as much notice as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you.
If one of our Q&As/discussions are of interest and you require a signer, please contact us so we do our best to source a suitable interpreter if we can.
This is a technology we are trying to make more widely available. If you require audio description, please get in touch as soon as possible and we will let you know if this will be available. Audio description availability is dependent on the film distributors.
Whatever your access need, please contact us if you want to.
