WE TRY TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR LGBTQ+ INTEREST FILMS? (which we interpret generously!)
For films which are more likely to be screened mainstream, GAY TIMES do a good review. For other/more varied/independent films: QUEERGURU is a goldmine.
Sometimes we discover what gets taken out of mainstream films! e.g. the excluded lesbian storyline, with Frances de la Tour, in ‘Love Actually‘

Then it’s a matter of checking out the local venues from time to time and flagging films up on this website and on our FB Page. Check them out!
During lockdown they may have access to good LGBT films online too eg KINOKULTURE link with Pecadillo Pictures
SHROPSHIRE VENUES: There are some 13 screening venues we’re aware of in Shropshire:
LUDLOW – ASSEMBLY ROOMS (Closed as at Jan 2021)
MARKET DRAYTON – FESTIVAL CENTRE (Closed as at Jan 2021)
OSWESTRY –KINOKULTURE
SHREWSBURY – THEATRE SEVERN & THE OLD MARKET HALL (Closed as at Jan 2021) and THE HIVE. Also FLICKS IN THE STICKS, CINEWORLD (Closed as at Jan 2021) and the SHREWSBURY FILM SOCIETY
TELFORD – ODEON LUXE and CINEWORLD (Closed as at Jan 2021)
WELLINGTON – THE ORBIT
WEM – TOWN HALL
Wherever we can we try to establish a good relationship with these venues and encourage the screening of films we would like to see, which we are then happy to promote.
