Shropshire LGBT Film Festival
Sunday 17th May 2015 @ 20:00, The Hive. In response to finding the words “fag” and “U R gay” spray-painted on her car, Erin decided to embrace what happened by leaving the graffiti on her car, putting her studies on hold and embarking upon a video-documented 55,000 mile journey through 41 U.S. states.
Peter Scott-Presland was on great form: entertaining and informative. He read from personal accounts in the book, which was riveting. A really good discussion followed and a number of books were sold. A big ‘Thank you’ to Peter, who put so much into making the event a success and Maria and Karen at Two Fat Rascals for hosting it.
We are eager this year to feature a number of screening outside Shrewsbury as requested in some of the feedback forms during previous festival weekends.

Absolutely nothing to do with Shropshire Rainbow Film Festival, however The Shrewsbury Film Society are screening the Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros on 29th June. We screened it during our second festival back in 2007.
Every year we are delighted to welcome film directors and guest speakers from all over the world to our festival. However, as the film festival gets more and more popular we are running out of spare bed space. To volunteer a bed space or your time please get in touch.
FLATPACK Film Festival presents….LOLGBT SHORTS. Surreal, reflective, and occasionally downright crude – a lucky dip of new shorts presented in association with Shout Festival.

Manchester is hosting the first ever National Festival of LGBT History focused on exploring, exposing, and discussing lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans (LGBT) history. Committee members of the Shropshire Rainbow Film Festival will be there giving a talk on “Rainbow Shropshire”.
Wednesday 18th February 2015 @ 20:00 at The Hive. Anne Lister (1791–1840) was a wealthy, unmarried woman who inherited Shibden Hall in West Yorkshire from her uncle in 1826. Throughout her life, she kept diaries which chronicled the details of her everyday life, including her lesbian relationships, her financial concerns, her industrial activities and her work improving Shibden Hall.
